WATER VEIL

Soft and weightless as a veil over water, this airy Anarkali is shaped from the finest Chendamangalam muslin. A curved yoke is traced with petite stitch lines, while delicate self- embroidery frames the jewel neckline. A muted ash-blue border edges the hem, its colour reminiscent of water beneath a pale sky. The gentle flare falls lightly above the ankles.

Before it reaches the loom, the yarn rests in water for forty-eight hours, a slow process that gives the handwoven muslin its remarkable softness and gossamer-light feel. Unbleached, breathable and exquisitely light, it is a fabric that barely seems to touch the skin.
