Athangudi Summer

Athangudi Summer is an ankle-length, flared kurta dress that draws from the vivid surfaces and sun-washed warmth of Chettinad. Crafted in lightweight kandaangi cotton, the silhouette brings together a lively medley of handwoven stripes and checks, animated by striking panels of thatha pachai (parrot green) and kaapikuru—the deep maroon of coffee beans drying in the sun.

A richly woven border frames the hem, while delicate highlight embroidery on the yoke lends a quiet intricacy to the garment. The airy handloom cotton moves with softness and ease, balancing graphic structure with an effortless fluidity.
